Dr. April Brown is a Doctor of Intimacy and an EMDRIA-approved EMDR therapist serving clients in her office in Southwest Florida as well as clients in FL, NJ, NY, WI through telehealth. In addition, she is a Licensed Mental Health Christian Counselor; Board Certified-TeleMental Health Provider; Certified Sex Therapist; a National Certified Counselor, Gottman Trained Therapist – Level 1, 2, and 3; American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapist (AASECT); EMDRIA-Approved EMDR Therapist, and a Florida Qualified Supervisor. She specializes in relationships, intimacy, sex therapy, anxiety, depression, pre-marital counseling, self-esteem, and emotional support animal (ESA) documentation. Work Experience:

Since 2000, Dr. April has been in the counseling field in Lee County. She has a very diverse background in counseling children, teens, adults, couples, and families. She has counseled, taught, and facilitated groups, workshops, courses, and presentations. Dr. April has worked in community centers, public schools, universities, businesses and private practice. In addition to being a well-known relationship and anxiety specialist therapist, she has been recognized as a “Lee County Counselor of the Year” and “Black Girls Rock -Women in Health” Award for Southwest Florida. She provides workshops to various communities. Plus, she supervises local registered mental health counseling interns.

Couples Retreats
In 2020, Dr. April created “Vacation Counseling” – a couples retreat services that focuses on helping couples reconnect.
In Vacation Counseling, Dr. April and another counselor or two provide intense couples counseling sessions using a variety of techniques and methods. So far it is has been 100%.
