Welcome! I am a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern and the owner of Haven and Heart Counseling. I have experience and training in working with clients of all ages- children, adolescents, and adults. Prior to becoming a RMHCI, I was a Professional School Counselor and Educator for 20 years, where I gained experience in helping adolescents and children with emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and goal-setting.

I provide an open-minded, non-judgmental, safe space, where clients feel comfortable to drop their mask and simply be themselves. My therapy room is a sacred space to process emotions, reprocess past distressing experiences, and practice self-compassion. My passion is working with clients who are motivated to overcome the traumas in their life that cause them to be “stuck” in self-limiting patterns. I believe all humans have the innate capacity to heal, and already possess the inner resources needed to accomplish this.

For in person EMDR therapy, Tara uses state of the art, wireless, EMDR equipment (EMDR Kit, made in the Netherlands) to ensure client comfort and personalization.
