Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy helped me change so many lives that it ended up changing my own life. By treating my clients with this transformative therapy, I’ve realized the limitless power of healing we have as therapists. When I started providing consultation to newly trained EMDR therapists, I discovered that many therapists need help and support on their journey. Many therapists find it hard to navigate the endless flow of information from books, articles, studies, and, of course, the internet. To help therapists learn and grow, I created the EMDR learning community, where clinicians read and learn together. EMDR is a transformational form of psychotherapy. It has the potential to create long-lasting changes for our clients. Mediocre therapy will lead to mediocre outcomes or worse—make your client worse. I believe that mediocracy is not an option. Sadly, many EMDR-trained therapists are afraid to use this transformative therapy in their practice or are unsure about what to do when things get complicated. What do you do when a SUD level doesn’t change, or when your client starts dissociating in session? I don’t have all the answers, but I continue exploring.

Dr. Cherri Ann Jennewein; “CJ’s”. She began her career in Animal Emergency Medicine while pursuing her degree's in Human Medicine. She raised 3 children, and they are the best. From 2005 to present emergency medicine has always been her favorite practice, where academia runs a close second. She teaches Nurse Practitioners, and heads a program for infectious disease; specifically Hepatitis C. She is a strong patient advocate and understands medication interactions. She studied this in an IRB approved review where enzymes rule and interactions abound. This study cross referenced enzyme metabolism, then compared many different types of hazardous drug interactions to respected treatment modalities with protocols for chronic conditions. Her additional certifications are in toxicology, trauma, and mental health. Most currently she is helping to expand the use of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which has been proven to help people heal from stressful events. Dr. Jennewein is a certified EMDR therapist.

There is often an overwhelming feeling, event, or life transition that brings someone to therapy, and, usually, that's only after they've tried to run away, ignore, or just push through "it." It’s not that you aren’t trying hard enough. You need support, and that’s ok. My goal is to support you through the process of healing and finding yourself again or for the first time. I use EMDR to help clients reprocess traumatic or difficult experiences, to find relief from the symptoms that have been troubling them recently or for years. I have extensive experience working with victims/survivors of trauma (including complex/childhood) as well as their families. Another passion of mine is perinatal mental health (prenatal, infertility, loss, postpartum, breastfeeding stress, etc.), and I can help you prepare for, navigate, and cope with these different stages. Looking for a therapist is both vulnerable and brave, and those two characteristics make all the difference. I am here to support you through the next steps. Christovich Counseling, LLC is offering EMDR through telehealth in the panhandle and throughout the state of Florida. If you wondering how EMDR (or therapy in general) works through telehealth, schedule a free, brief consultation through the website...

I help people heal from trauma; big or small trauma, generational trauma or present day trauma. EMDR has been a profound game changer in my practice. I’ve seen EMDR help clients overcome lifelong negative themes, most commonly; “I’m not enough and I don’t matter.” I have personally benefitted from EMDR in my own healing. It’s an honor to help people navigate and reconcile the wounds from their past to create a better future for themselves, their families and generations to come. It brings me such joy to see people find freedom from the shame and negative beliefs that have haunted them. I have witnessed profound change in the people I have walked beside on this journey. It’s not all sadness and pain, there is a lot of beauty too.

To the outside world, you appear to have it all together, but, on the inside, a little voice keeps telling you that “you are not good enough” or that “you don’t matter.” You are afraid that one day others may find out that you’re an imposter and although others see you as being successful, your internal dialogue is telling you otherwise. You know something is off, and you don’t want to live this way anymore because it’s exhausting, and it’s robbing you of your happiness, your peace, your self-love and maybe even your physical health. You want to be able to turn off your inner critic and to value and love yourself. You want to stop feeling like everything has to be perfect and that you have to keep doing more in order to feel loved, validated and worthy. You simply want your stinkin’ thinkin’ to stop, and I can help with that by working together to get to the root of your negative thinking patterns. While I know that the unknown can be really scary sometimes, you deserve to be happy, so if you are ready to invest in yourself and to put in the work to make lasting...
