I am licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Texas, and in the Cayman Islands, and am fluent in English, ASL, and other forms of American signed communication. I am experienced with both in person and remote telehealth service provision.

I have been working in clinical settings since 2015 that vary from private practice, emergency mental health services, hospital discharge intake and care coordination, a mood disorder specialty clinic, and as a therapist for the community through the Cayman Islands government.

Prior to my clinical work, I was a sign language interpreter for 10 years and then moved to social services, providing comprehensive support for early childhood intervention and for families with children who have complex medical and mental health needs, through case management and coordination, resource development, and emotional support.

My theoretical framework is trauma informed and an eclectic integration of humanistic client centered approaches, that take into account client’s history and narrative, internal and external systems of influence, cognitive/information process, behavior patterns, relationships, and connection to self. My interventions are rooted from a client’s own desire for change and support the development of insight, coping skills, and present moment awareness through mindfulness, cognitive, behavioral, relational, somatic, and EMDR based interventions.

I am trained in several evidence based therapeutic interventions including: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), various Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) interventions – TF-CBT, CBT for Bipolar Disorder, and CBT-I for Insomnia, Cognitive Processing, Mindfulness for Sobriety, The Gottman Method for Couples Level I & Level II, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intensive Trauma Treatment, Suicide Prevention, Interpersonal and Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT), Polyvagal Theory, Grief and Loss, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Positive Behavior Management, Theraplay, Play Therapy, Sand Tray, and Activity Interventions.

Key areas of focus: Trauma, Positive Communication, Positive Relationships, Mood Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Mindfulness, Mind/Body Connection, ADHD, Parenting, Behavior Disruptions, Chronic Illness, Grief, LGBTQIA, Identity Exploration, Substance Use/Addiction, Crisis Intervention, Post Crisis Management, Psychosis, Personality Disorders, Self Awareness, Life Transitions, Case Management, Life Skills, and Coaching.
